Vehicles in German City Found Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to police.

Vehicles, walls and postboxes were defaced, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.

Police say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Officers then found many other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement say preliminary tests indicate the fluid was probably human blood.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; authorities are currently not aware of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they commented.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have asked to the residents for details.

An important official stated the incident rendered him without words and had to be solved rapidly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the death of nine people by a gunman focusing on residents of migrant background in 2020.
